Measure Z – In November 2014, voters in Humboldt County approved a half-cent tax initiative to be used within the County for shortfalls in public services that the County was facing.  The initiative, by law, can only be implemented for five years. K;ima:w Medical Center, an entity of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, has been the recipient of funding from the Measure Z funding, used to supplement losses from the ambulance service. K’ima:w Medical Center’s EMS services serve the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation and surrounding community, including Willow Creek, Orleans, Weitchpec and Pecwan.
