Hello, My name is Casey O’Neill, I am a member of the Yurok Tribe. I am married to a Hupa Tribal member and mother of five wonderful human beings who are also all Tribal members. I grew up downriver in Weitchpec, migrating upriver to Hoopa 24 years ago and have remained in the valley. I wanted to provide a brief overview of my educational background. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Behavior Science, which has provided me with a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and its practical applications. This degree has equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to address the needs of individuals in various settings effectively. In terms of recent certifications, I have successfully completed various training programs that have reinforced my expertise in delivering comprehensive care and assistance. Some of these certifications include IHS CHR Basic Training, which has further enhanced my understanding of delivering holistic care to individuals in need. Additionally, I have obtained certifications in Care Planning, Nursing Process & Nursing Assessment, Taking Vital Signs, Emotionally Disturbed, Community Health Care, Palliative Care, and The Role of Certified Nursing Assistants. These certifications have equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide compassionate and efficient care to patients while maintaining a high level of professionalism. I have also acquired certifications in the past that have further expanded my skill set in the healthcare field. These certifications include Nursing Assistant (2021), Application of HIPAA in Applied Behavioral Health (2021), Care Coordinator and Case Management (2021), Impact of Substance Use Disorders on Families and Approaches to Treatment (2021), and Motivational Interviewing (2021). These certifications have allowed me to navigate complex healthcare situations with confidence and have equipped me with the ability to provide comprehensive support to patients and their families.
