Eva Marie Smith, MD, MPH, Medical Director

Dr. Smith graduated from Dartmouth College, Georgetown University School of Medicine and in 1990 she earned her master's degree from UCLA School of Public Health. She is board certified as a Family Medicine Specialist with two sub specialties, Preventive Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Eva has been at KMC since 1997 and served as Medical Director since 1998. With this background, it enables her to treat patients through our MAT program. Dr. Smith was instrumental in bringing Telemedicine services here for our patients. In 2013 she was awarded the prestigious Plessner Award from the California Medical Association (CMA). This award has been established for the doctor who best exemplifies the ethics and practice of a rural doctor. She brings 43 years of medical experience and is dedicated to our/her people of this community. Dr Smith is a member of the Shinnecock Tribe in Eastern New York and is married to a Hupa tribal member. They enjoy their six children and many grandchildren.
