Dr. Liu assumed his current position as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Ki’ma:w Medical Center in January of 2024. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he oversees the Medical Staff, Nursing Department, Behavioral Health, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), the Diabetic Management clinics, and Radiology and Lab. Dr. Liu honorably served in both the U.S. Navy and Air Force for over 22 years, attaining the rank of Colonel. He served two tours to the Gulf during Operation Southern Watch. As a Naval medical officer, he served onboard the USS-Bridge; Team Leader on the Shock Trauma Platoon with the 3rd Marine Division; and full scope family physician at the Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan. While in the Air Force, he served as Chief of Professional Services and was promoted to Chief of Aerospace Medicine/Vice Commander with the 154th Medical Group as the Master Flight Surgeon. Dr. Liu has served for over 22 years in the Federal service, including years as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine for the Tripler Family Medicine Residency, Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii; supervising physician of the Medical Evaluation Board; Chief of Primary Care as well as Chief of Staff at various VA Medical Centers. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Family Physicians and has published and lectured both nationally and internationally and holds a clinical assistant professorship with seven medical schools. Dr. Liu received a Bachelor of Science from Westmont College and holds a medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences. He completed residency at the Naval Hospital Bremerton Puget Sound Family Practice Residency and is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine
